Achieve a Beautiful Smile With Veneers

Enhance your smile with composite or porcelain veneers.

About VeneersVeneers Can Transform Your Smile

Veneers are tooth colored facings applied to the surfaces of the teeth that show when you smile. If you have noticeable gaps between your teeth, crooked teeth, or uneven teeth, you may be a good candidate for veneers as part of your smile makeover. Dr. John Savukinas has extensive experience working with veneers and can customize a procedure based on your goals and budget. It is important for all patients to consider the benefits and drawbacks of veneers before they proceed with treatment, as well as the options for either composite or porcelain veneers. We can review both of these procedures and make a recommendation for your smile makeover during your private consultation with Dr. Savukinas.

Learn more about composite and porcelain veneers by scheduling your appointment with Dr. Savukinas in Rockville, MD today.

Composite Veneers vs. Porcelain Veneers

Composite Veneers

COMPOSITE VENEERS

Composite veneers can be applied in a single visit and can create a very natural looking result. However, they will wear down under pressure and are not as stain resistant as porcelain veneers. Investing in composite veneers may offer immediate benefits, but you will likely need to have them replaced within a few years. These veneers are shaped chairside, bond with the tooth, and do require some tooth structure to be removed for a natural fit.

Porcelain Veneers

PORCELAIN VENEERS

Porcelain veneers are designed to look like your natural teeth and are very durable and strong. They are ideal for masking chips and cracks in the enamel, creating the illusion of even teeth, and enhancing the smile. Porcelain veneers can last over a decade before they need to be replaced or repaired. They are typically placed in two appointments and require removing some of the natural tooth structure in order to achieve the most natural look and strongest bond to the teeth.
